Benefits of woods_ masks
Hydrating masks, peel masks, deep cleansing masks … these are special treatments that aren’t necessarily part of your daily skincare routine, but that you can incorporate on a weekly basis, when your skin calls for a little extra attention and care. Facial treatments or masks normally contain a more intense formula than the products in your daily skincare routine, either because the formula is supposed to sit on the skin for longer periods of time (as a facial mask is supposed to), or because the product contains ingredients that are too powerful for daily use – such as in our Intense Peel Mask.
Masks work deep within the skin, which is highly beneficial whether you wish to replenish or awaken the skin or remove dead skin cells as well as build-up of sebum and grime. Because of this, masks can be beneficial for every skin type, whether you’re dealing with dry skin, acne, impurities, or you’re concerned about reducing signs of aging.
Choose the right mask for your skin
Depending on the mask as well as its ingredients, a facial mask can leave visible effects on skin suffering from acne, dryness, premature signs of aging and much more. To find the best mask for your skin, you need to consider your skin type.
OILY OR BLEMISH-PRONE SKIN?
Reach for coal masks (Deep Cleansing Mask) to cleanse deep within the pores and exfoliate away dead skin cells.
FEELING DRY?
Choose a cooling and calming gel formula enriched with hyaluronic acid, such as our Intense Hyaluronic Mask, which has the ability to quench thirsty skin.
DULL SKIN?
Opt for a peel mask such as Intense Peel Mask, which effectively removes dead skin cells from the skin’s surface while evening out the skin tone, leaving a rejuvenated and tightened complexion.

How to use a facial mask
How you should use a facial mask depends on the specific product. A hydrating mask such as Intense Hyaluronic Mask can be highly beneficial to use 2-3 times a week, whereas deeply cleansing masks and peel masks should only be used once a week. However, we recommend that you always check the back of the packaging to ensure that you aren’t overusing it, as this can worsen existing skin issues. When the mask is rinsed off, it’s important that you remember to care for the skin afterwards with a serum and a hydrating cream, supplied by sunscreen, if you use masks during day time.
Pro tip: Before starting a new skincare product, e.g. skincare masks, we also recommend that you always do a patch test (applying a small amount to your neck) to observe how your skin reacts.
For woods_ masks, the following applies:
Intense Hyaluronic Mask can sit on the skin for 10 minutes or longer depending on needs, after which it’s rinsed with lukewarm water. If your skin is very thirsty, you can try and let the mask sit overnight and rinse it after you wake up. This trick is especially suitable for very dry skin types and is not recommended if you’re dealing with clogged pores or impurities.
Our Intense Peel Mask, on the other hand, should only sit on the skin for 2-4 minutes, after which it’s rinsed with lukewarm water. You can experience the skin turning red, which a completely natural reaction and simply a sign that the ingredients are working actively on the skin.
Deep Cleansing Mask can be used on the whole face, in the T-zone, or as a spot treatment on impurities. Let the mask sit for 10 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.
EXFOLIATION: PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL
Exfoliating treatments are effective because they deliver powerful ingredients that cleanse deep within the skin layers to decongest clogged pores and promote a more even-toned, healthy, and glowy surface. There’re two types of exfoliating: Chemical and physical. Physical exfoliations contain micro grains that manually cleanse the skin. Chemical exfoliations are made of skincare acids that remove dead skin cells, build-up, and grime. What type of exfoliation you choose should depend on your skin type and plays a vital role in your results.
Our Deep Cleansing Scrub is a physical exfoliation formulated with micro grains of volcanic rhyolite, which cleanses deep within the skin’s layers to prevent clogged pores and impurities, while nourishing your complexion with Nordic oils, vitamins, and antioxidants. This product is therefore an especially essential choice for dull and lackluster skin in need of a vitality boost.
Our Intense Peel Mask and Deep Cleansing Mask are chemical exfoliations that promote an even and glowy surface by minimizing and preventing impurities and pores while leaving the skin with an immediate glow. These are an especially essential choice for oily and breakout-prone skin.
