What sun protection factor (SPF) should I choose?

Sun protection is an investment in your skin’s health and helps prevent early signs of aging and the risk of skin cancer. 

  • The Danish Health Authority recommends a minimum SPF of 30 to effectively protect the skin from harmful UV rays. 
  • SPF 30 blocks approximately 97% of UV rays. 
  • SPF 50 blocks approximately 98% of UV rays. 
  • For fair skin or prolonged sun exposure (UV 7+), SPF 50 is recommended. 
  • Remember, sunscreen alone is not sufficient protection against sun damage and should be complemented with shade and protective clothing. 

Remember to reapply sunscreen every two hours and after swimming or sweating. The level of protection decreases signficantly if you don’t apply enough.
